 2 computers
I have 2 computers at home and both my brother and I wanna play DoH. Everytime I log on, my brother gets logged off. I know you can only open one browser on a computer, but why does it log off the other computer that has a different IP?

 Re: 2 computers
computers each have an "internal" code , kinda like an IP, but this isn't as easily tracable. (making it possible to hardban, only way to avoid is buying new motherboard)
Computers on the same network do indeed have same ip's , and is used 99.99% of the times to ban or block users.
workarounds are proxies, or resetable IP's
so, unless the computers both have different ISP contracts, they will have the same IP
(still not that technically either, but I adminned quite a few forums)

 Re: 2 computers
Dof is right, the computers have different LOCAL IP addresses, however that is on the network; to the World Wide Web you use a DNS server somewhere around your area of living (mine is in a nearby city), routed to you via satellite or cable (unsure about satellite), and through the same router you have the same IP address. I think.
I've tried learning this stuff for my net game of Star Trek but I got confused; probably Aaron should answer this one o.O

Just one problem... IP/ISP/Router problems are mailed to Aaron@tandemgames.com .. and that help e-mail is wrong as well. That would be Natasha's e-mail and it's help@domainofheroes.com

 Re: 2 computers
I think she 's right. Internet connection is the one who give IP address not the computer itself..

 Re: 2 computers
Just to clarify this so people don't misunderstand. Home pc's Don't have the same IP address if they did they wouldn't be both allowed on the network at the same time. Instead they have the same gateway address from the router(which can be used to block multiple connections to the same router since the first two sets of digits will be the same for instance 192.168.XXX.XXX) The last sets of digits is where you get your different IP addresses the third set being the same as whatever your default gateway is and the last can range from 1-255 so any one person can have quite a lot of IP addresses they can either assign themselves or get assigned via DHCP(your router does the work for you). So when you ban a connection you would more than likely ban the entire router which to my knowlege is usually done via mac address anyway instead of IP but I suppose either way is just as affected as long as the software/code understands that 192.168.80.XXX would ban all IP's in that range. So Miaow you are correct in a way your ISP would be the one to assign you a range of IP addresses which can be limited based on who you have but yes are assigned by the "internet"(sort of). DreamsofFury each computer doesn't really have an "internal code" that identifies each of them only the mac address on whatever nic card or wireless card you are using has a "code"(mac address) that can be identified and it isn't difficult it is posted a long with the IP with any decent sniffing software or since you're connecting to DOH server very easy to see. Proxies would be a work around however resettable IP's????? Unless you're referring to a black box that generates random IP's (which I'm fairly certain noone that plays this game has) than that isn't possible unless you contact your ISP and get them to change it. I think that addressed everything :O hopefully it made sense.
